Run Resurfacing in the Bear Chutes - Location
The wind was a major player in providing a constant supply of nice, soft turns today. There wasn’t a sign of a track when I skied down after taking this picture, despite my seeing a whole flop (my daughter’s term for a group of boarders) of boarders ripping it up as I rode up the Boom chair.
Of course this also meant there were places that were scoured down to a hard foundation by the wind, but in my admittedly selective travels, the good was predominant. Trees, lee slopes and gullies were all obvious candidates for fine skiing, but even lots of pretty exposed places were still quite decent.
It is spring break or reading week in a lot of places, so there were more folks than there has been on weekdays, but other than some small line ups at White Pass, which was restricted to triples, presumably for some mechanical issue, it didn’t seem at all crowded.
At 15:30 it is rather warm 4 C at the house.
